Alejandro Kobiakov was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1976. In 1987 his family relocates to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and in 1989 to Princeton, New Jersey, USA. They return to Caracas in 1993. With a scholarship from Fundayacucho he studies graphic design in UNE (Universidad Nueva Esparta) in Caracas.
In 1999 he creates his first TV animation which wins, the following year, "Best Animation"
at the ANDA Awards.
In 2000 he visits Europe for the first time, where he travels for several months. Upon returning to Caracas, reliving the hundreds of artworks witnessed at european museums, he creates his first series of paintings. He finishes with a large selfportrait.
In 2000 he establishes the studio
LDTQHLADLIDSG (translated: The two guys who created the Seguros Guayana iguana animation) where he creates, until 2004, over 30 animations for TV and film with numerous clients such as Pepsi, MTV, Chevrolet and BBVA, among others.
At the end of 2003 he creates the drawings which give birth to culismo. In 2004 he moves to Madrid, Spain, where he begins decidedly to develop culismo based on nude models he draws at the Círculo de Bellas Artes.
Since january 2006 he resides in Barcelona where he continues to work on culismo. He also continues working on graphic design, illustration and animation with brands such as Seat, Desigual and J&B, in collaboration with diverse production studios such as Vectorsoul, No-Domain, Antomic and El Terrat.
On april 2007 he held his first exhibition at the Café Galdós in Madrid, obtaining excellent critics from the public. The last culismo exhibit was held at the Yataki restaurant - C/Antonio Pérez 26, Madrid - from may 10 to june 28, 2007.
